Viktor V. Shepelev proposed new understanding of the Earth's cryolithosphere and its water exchange function, concretized the scheme of the natural water cycle based on the principle of their unity and phase transitions, clarified the existing ideas about the aeration zone in the area of permafrost distribution and its geoecological role.
Author and co-author of 314 scientific works, including 15 monographs, brochures, textbooks.
