Valeriy V. Lepov has contributed to the development of the concept of predicting the residual life of objects exposed to the synergistic effect of mechanical loads and hydrogen. He formulated new scientific concepts in the field of multilevel structural modeling of evolutionary connected processes of the damage accumulation and assessment of the fracture toughness of heterogeneous structural materials based on methods for studying fine structures and interdisciplinary approaches.

Currently, under his supervision, a number of scientific projects are being implemented aimed at analyzing and identifying micromechanisms of materials deformation and destruction, assessing and extending energy resource and transport facilities in the North and the Arctic.

Author and co-author of over 200 scientific papers, 3 monographs, 1 patent for an invention.

Awards:

N.V. Chersky Medal (2014), V.P. Larionov Gold Medal (2010), Diploma of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (2019), Diplomas of the Presidium of the SB RAS (1995,2003,2013,2019), Diplomas of the Government, Ministries and Departments of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (2000-2020).
