Doctoral dissertation: Development of physical and technological bases for obtaining wear-resistant friction surfaces by the conjugate process of plasma sputtering with reflow in the Far North (1998).

Mikhail P. Lebedev focused on physical and mechanical characteristics of products with coatings applied by highly concentrated energy sources using powder materials. He demonstrated that the use of details with protective coatings in dynamic units of equipment and construction elements operated at low temperatures leads to a steady increase in internal stresses of the second kind in friction surfaces.
