Valery Yu. Fridovsky

Research interests: Geology and metallogeny of fold-thrust areas.

PhD thesis: Structure and conditions for the localization of mineralization of the Dybinsk ore cluster (South Verkhoyansk), (1986).

Doctoral dissertation: Structure of the gold deposits in the Verkhoyansk-Kolyma orogenic region (1999).

Valery Yu. Fridovskiy developed a taxonomy of the ore fields’ structures and gold deposits of the fold-thrust areas, established a correlation between geodynamic environments and types of the ore-controlling structures, revealed evolution of the Mesozoic dynamic regimes of the formation of ore deposits, determined lateral series of the metallogenic zones, clarified the most important criteria for prospecting for orogenic gold deposits.

He is the author and co-author of 228 scientific papers, including 13 monographs, 4 textbooks and 2 patents.
