Journal History

The journal was established in 1996 under the title Nauka i Obrazovanie, initiated by the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It is the first scientific journal in the republic, with organized research in the area starting in the early 20th century.

In 2019, the journal was renamed Arctic and Subarctic Natural Resources, focusing on research related to the biological and geological resources of the Arctic and Subarctic regions, as well as information on equipment used in northern environments. The journal aims to increase the geographical diversity of its contributors and foster interdisciplinary discussions among scientists involved in Arctic research.
