<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>This article identifies the patterns of localization of mammoth fauna remains in the Tirekhtyakh River basin (right tributary of the Indigirka River) in relation to modern cryogenic and dynamic processes. The study area is a unique location for Late Pleistocene fossil fauna, where a high concentration of bone remains results from the specific structure and degradation of the ice complex. The relevance of this study stems from the need to resolve a significant contradiction between the widely accepted hypothesis of a relict, uniform distribution of fossils within Yedoma strata and empirical data indicating their concentration within specific geomorphological features and zones of active cryogenic morpholithogenesis. The aim of this work was to determine the role of Late Pleistocene riverine processes and modern cryogenic factors – such as thermal erosion, thermal denudation, and solifluction – in the formation of secondary accumulations of bone remains, based on a comprehensive analysis of satellite imagery, field observations, and GIS modeling. The methodology was founded on large-scale geomorphological mapping utilizing remote sensing data and digital elevation models (DEMs). A key stage involved spatial analysis to correlate find locations with morphometric relief parameters, including slope gradient, slope aspect, and depth of dissection. Fieldwork comprised route surveys of identified anomalies, accompanied by descriptions of sections and recording of find coordinates. The results indicate that the primary factors controlling the localization of accumulations are not the initial burial sites (taphonomic complexes) themselves, but rather the zones of active modern destruction of Yedoma strata. The practical significance of this work lies in the development of a quantitative predictive criterion for prospecting fossil mammoth bones and associated remains. As part of the study, a map of slopes within the Yedoma massifs was compiled, enabling the identification of zones with varying terrain steepness. The proposed approach facilitates a transition from random discovery to targeted exploration based on scientific prediction. This, in turn, significantly increases the economic efficiency of collection efforts and reduces the anthropogenic impact on fragile Arctic ecosystems.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>мамонтовая фауна</kwd><kwd>ископаемая мамонтовая кость</kwd><kwd>условия захоронения</kwd><kwd>распространение</kwd><kwd>уклон рельефа местности</kwd><kwd>цифровая модель рельефа (ЦМР)</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>mammoth fauna</kwd><kwd>fossil mammoth bone</kwd><kwd>burial conditions</kwd><kwd>distribution</kwd><kwd>terrain slope</kwd><kwd>digital relief model (DEM)</kwd></kwd-group><funding-group><funding-statement xml:lang="ru">Работа выполнена в рамках госзадания Академии наук Республики Саха (Якутия) 1.1 «Палеоэкологические исследования позднего плейстоцена Якутии» и II этапа Комплексных научных исследований, направленных на развитие производительных сил и социальной сферы (КНИ-2) «Поиск и ресурсная оценка местонахождений мамонтовой фауны, социально-правовые и экологические аспекты добычи ископаемой мамонтовой кости в Арктической зоне РС (Я)»</funding-statement><funding-statement xml:lang="en">This work was conducted within the framework of the state assignment to the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) under Project 1.1 “Paleoecological studies of the Late Pleistocene of Yakutia” and as part of Stage 2 of the Comprehensive Scientific Research aimed at the development of productive forces and the social sphere (KNI-2), specifically the project “Research and resource assessment of mammoth fauna locations, and the social, legal and environmental aspects of fossil mammoth bone extraction in the Arctic Zone of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)”</funding-statement></funding-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Bergström D., Stanton W.G., Taron U.H., et al.
